AMG Town Centre
The elementary school, St. Andrew's School, was closed in 1995 (see old Photo at right). The Town Council, with consultations with the Town residents, decided to purchase the building and land and renovate it for a new Town Centre. With the help of many funding partners, such as ACOA, Human Resources Development Canada (now Service Canada) and the Dept. of Municipal Affairs, the Town put an addition on the building and did complete renovations. Also, with funding from the International Grenfell Association (IGA), the Town purchased equipment for the Youth Centre.
The Town Centre is named after two veterans of WWII, Albert Peter Letto and Manuel Letto as well as Gordon Chubbs, the first person to work for the town of L'Anse au Clair.
The AMG Town Centre houses the Town Office, Council Chambers, Community Access Program, Family Resource Centre, gym, kitchen, office space available for rent, and a youth centre.
